It was a little bit better this year...

Remeber when I blogged this picture last year after leaving the fireworks early?

Ayla was terrorized and traumatized by the fireworks last year.
This year was a little bit better.
Here she is before she realizes what we're doing on top of a hill in a full-size conversion van.

And then they started.
The big kids were oooooing and aaahhhhing and Brigg said to Ayla, "Don't you think they are pretty?"
She responded in a kind of wimpering voice, "No, I don't like them."
Someone beside us heard her and saw her covering her ears and they gave us the headphones.
Awesome.
Worked like a charm...even if they were on her cheeks instead of her ears. :)

She was still a little hesitant, but we made it through the whole show this year.

See?? Improvement.
I'll take it.
