Lots of ripples tonight...

It's been a pretty exciting week for water, no doubt. And we are still witnessing the ripples throughout our own part of the world here. Tonight there is a middle school dance going on in Davenport. It excites me to think that more young kids are getting their eyes opened to the water crisis at such a young age.
And tonight as I was starting to get supper together my doorbell rang. There was a woman standing out in the freezing cold with an envelope. She said, "You don't know me. But my daughter asked what I thought she should do for her 4H Christmas service project and I said 'You should do water for christmas'. So they did. And here is the cash." How cool is that?! We went on discussing that her daughter was a senior in highschool and that she had been MY sister's 5th grade teacher. And that year she had given birth to her now 18 year old daughter. So neat. And so exciting. Kids. I love that. Kids getting it. Our future. They will make a difference.

So we are starting to see things wrapping up around here. Tomorrow is our last $10 Friday. I have heard several people talking about giving on this last Friday. We still haven't met our goal of drilling one well on a Friday. I think tomorrow is the day. Our final chance to lock arms and prove that when regular people come together, we can change the world.

Franciscan Blessing
May God bless you with discomfort
at easy answers, half truths and superficial relationships
so that you may live deep within your heart.
May God bless you with anger
at injustice, oppression and exploitation of people
so that you may work for justice, freedom and peace.
May God bless you with tears
to shed for those who suffer pain, rejection, hunger and war
so that you may reach out your hand to comfort them and
to turn their pain into joy.
And may God bless you with enough foolishness
to believe that you can make a difference in the world
so that you can do what others claim cannot be done
to bring justice and kindness to all our children and the poor.

I have a super cute, handmade apron that my mil made just for water4christmas. Would you guys consider auctioning it off on your blogs? You guys have more people reading than me and may garner more money! I've emailed Jody and Amy. . but they are super busy too and I DID email the week of the water party!

What do you think? I could email you a pic tomorrow if you want to see it first.
