We are taking a trip!
In August.
Paul and I are celebrating a decade together this year.
Our anniversary is in October, but we are planning a 5 day trip in August.
We will be staying here...
Isn't it incredible?!?
We had been tossing around the idea of heading to Alaska for a week, but settled on Maine.
Neither of us have ever been to any of the northeastern states, so we are excited.
We have not been on a "vacation" alone since our honeymoon!
We will be staying in Castine...population 1200.
No stop lights.
No police officers. (that should be a good thing for us! :))
Right on the water.
1 block from sail boat tours and kayak rentals.
1 hour from Acadia National Park and a sunset whale-watching tour.
It is quaint and beautiful.
I have been dreaming about it tonight as I process my day.
It was one of those days where my failures seem to outweigh my successes by a ton.
Thank goodness His mercies run new each and every day.
Off to bed to dream about lazy days in Castine! :)

Our vacation to Maine (pre-children) was one of the most wonderful times of our marriage. It is delightful! If you like white-water rafting... we did an amazing trip on class 5 rapids that you should try. I could go on and on! You will just love it.

we opted for Portugal - hee hee -
we have a friend who owns a vacation home on the beach, offered it for free and we can fly free with the military - otherwise, to Maine it would have been!
