Tools for Water for Christmas

(Read: "did you know..." post FIRST. then come back to this one!)
So you think you might want to get involved?
If so, we have put together some tools for you to use.
We would encourage anyone from all over to spread the word in their own churches, families, and communities.
So I am going to list some things you can do to get involved.

1. SPREAD THE WORD! If you blog, the easiest way to do this would be to add that littl blog button you see to the right on your sidebar. It's super easy. See where is says "share" below it? Click on that. A new screen will pop up and you will be asked to select what kind of blog you use. Select your blog and then place a checkmark in the box beside "Add to my sidebar". You'll be asked to enter your username and password. Once you do that and click enter you are done. The next time you go to your blog, the button will be there! And anyone can click on it and it will send them to our fundraising page...which is
http://www.water4christmas.com/.

2. We understand that not everybody has a blog. So we have created cards for you to use as a tool to spread the word. Below you will see an example. We have cards that say "I want" in the corner and cards that say "I gave" in the corner. We also have a poster size that you could use to set up your own fundraising table in your community. If you are interested in ANY of these business cards, or posters, email jody at jodylanders at gmail dot com. She will send you a PDF file with your requests. You can then print them off on your own computer or send the file to your local printer and they will print them for you!

3. BRACELETS! Below you will see a photo of a super cute bracelet. These bracelets are for sale on Amy's etsy shop for $5. They will be sent with a card that reads, "I gave Water for Christmas" (just like the photo above, only saying "I gave" in the corner). Wouldn't this be a perfect stocking stuffer?!? The blue beads are made in Ghana of recycled glass. You can visit Amy's etsy shop at http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5433598
or visit her blog at http://www.muscatineamy.blogspot.com/ and leave her a comment. She can talk you thru purchasing one.

4. SET UP A TABLE. Here is an example of a table we will be setting up at a local grocery store. Remember you can email Jody for the PDF file of the poster. Plus, we will have bunches of 10 cards tied together with little red bows available for people to take in that front basket. Donations will be accepted, too. Email if you have more questions about this.

5. DONATE! There are a couple different ways to donate. First of all, you can click on the "Water for Christmas" button to the right and it will take you right to our fundraising page where you will be walked through the donation process. You can donate using a credit card or PayPal. If you are not comfortable donating online, you can mail a check. Checks can be made payable to CHARITY GLOBAL with "water for christmas" in the memo line and mailed to:
Charity Global, Inc.
150 Varick St. 5th floor
New York, NY 10013
All online donations generate a tax-deductable receipt at time of transaction. Receipts for all other forms of payment will be mailed.

6. Tesi will be hosting "Dancing for Water" on her blog. She has recruited people to dance a short dance and posted it on you tube. She has requested that you donate $3 to watch the dances. You can donate through her PayPal button on her sidebar. This will be on an honor system. These volunteers have participated because they believe in the cause. Please only view their dances if you have donated! How fun! :)

7. COPY! Feel free to copy ANYTHING you have read or seen on any of our blogs to your own blog or email. We cannot express in words how passionate we have all become about this project. We want the word to spread like wildfire. So copy and paste or link to a blog or a post or the fundraising page, whatever. And email any of us! You can visit all of our websites for a slightly different perspective.

8. GET EXCITED! If we all start getting excited about this, others will, too. This is what it's all about. Loving, living and doing. Pray for this project if you are so inclined and think about these people across the ocean and what we could do for them this holiday season if as Americans, we sacrificed a mere 2%.
Now GO!
Spread the love...
