ahhhh...my soul needed that.

I'm usually in charge of the babies.
That's pretty typical around here.
And I am fine with it.
I'll send the big kids off to do fun things with Paul or my parents and I'll stay with Ayla.
It's just easier.
But today I got to spend the day with Brigg...by myself.
(well, there were hundreds of other students around, but I got to focus just on HIM.)

It was great.
We watched baseball.
And can I just say that it was a perfect day for baseball.
We laughed and cheered and our cheeks got rosy.
We ate lunch in the park and drove home together.

He is so funny. And witty.
I think we have a similar sense of humor. I get his jokes.
We like to turn the music up loud and sing louder.

I have been pretty crabby lately.
And I needed today.
I needed a good day with just my baby boy.
And good it was.
So so good for my soul...

Silk-Dyed Eggs

Stole this idea from Leslie.
Turned out fabulous!
Paul literally spend the WHOLE morning on Saturday trying to find 100% silk in this town.
We tried Goodwill and the local fabric store. (they had solid, but no patterns).
Paul finally found a few ties at Salvation Army.
We cut them up, wrapped the pieces of silk around the eggs.
Wrapped the silk-wrapped eggs in a cut up cotton t-shirt and boiled them in water and 3 TBL vinegar.

The best part was unwrapping them.
And it was quite obvious that ONE of the ties made the best eggs.

It was a deep colored paisley tie.

It truly was amazing how detailed they came out.
This will be an annual event, I'm sure.
Only I will be keeping my eye out for bold colored silk ties a little earlier than the day before Easter!

My camera has been spending the weekend at my parents' house (and so have we!)
I'll have lots to post tomorrow...and probably throughout the week.
But as for tonight, feeling so very thankful, and yet so undeserving of the grace I have been showered with over and over again. Thank you Jesus.

First soccer game

Tonight was Brigg's first soccer game of the year.
I have to say, this kid is intense.
He loves competition....

House Hunting...

Is a bad idea when you are trying to sell yours.
I wouldn't recommend it.
Because you will find something.
And love it.
And not be able to do a thing about it because you already own one.
It's very frustrating, this real estate game.
