Eyes

"Eyes that look are common; eyes that see are rare." (J. Oswald Sanders)

Mohawk

So Brigg wants a mohawk. Jennie is coming this weekend and setting up shop. Brigg has decided on a mohawk. I, personally, am not a big mohawk fan, but he is confident that this is a perfect hairstyle for him. And he IS six years old now, so he has an opinion. So this morning we went online to try and find the perfect mohawk hairstyle. He was certain that this was NOT the one...

And he definitely didn't want this one...

But he said this one was "PERFECT!"...

I'm not sure about this, but of all three, this one is my favorite, too. I'll be posting pics of my little "6 year-old trying to look like a 25 year-old movie star" on Saturday.

The Blizzard of 08?

Not sure if this storm will be remembered for years to come, but it's pretty bad. Paul is out shoveling for the second time today and it is STILL coming down pretty hard. I took these pictures of him from the window. I think in the last one he is praying for it to just stop! :) He caught me taking pictures and didn't look so happy. So I flipped him the " I love you" sign and he flipped one back to me...one that was not so affectionate(sorry I didn't capture that on film!). He loves me. He really does.

So we could never survive in the Artic...

It's a blizzard. The weathermen were correct. Paul could not make it into work today and so he is home. It's 10:55 and he's bored. He got mad at me because my computer was running slow...I know, totally my fault. I was folding clothes at the dining room table and he walked in and just stood there. Looking at me. Breathing. The man has no idea what to do with himself and unfortunately yardwork is out of the question. So I made him go outside. In the snow. He still looks bored...

Ayla has also found her voice...

And she uses it...A LOT!

Snow

The kids played in the snow with our amazing neighbor girls today. They had a snowman building contest and it was a blast! These girls are pretty incredible and I'm sure my kids would agree. We'll see how the snowmen look in the morning after this big snowfall!

CRAZY

Ok, it is supposed to snow like 10 inches over night. That is crazy. But what is even crazier is the fact that my children ASKED to go to bed at 7:15 tonight. I'm still reeling...and they are sound asleep.

It was scary...

Mom and I decided to head to the QC for a quick shopping trip after church. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Just as we were getting ready to head home, the flake started coming. We drove 25 mph all the way home. it took an hour and a half. It was scary. I had 2 precious babies in the backseat and thoughts of a high school friend and his wife in a tragic accident a couple of weeks ago racing through my mind. Not fun. So thankful to be home safe and warm tonight. Stay home. I might not leave town again until MAY!

stolen-love it...

PeaceKeepers Cause-Metics

Ok, I just read about this and am loving the idea. I'm not a big make-up wearer, but I think this sounds like a fabulous place to spend my money if I were to do it on make-up.
"PeaceKeeper Cause-Metics is the first cosmetics line to give all of its after-tax distributable profits to women’s health advocacy and urgent human rights issues. PeaceKeeper builds a bridge between extraordinary women in the land-of-plenty with extraordinary women who just by chance of birth don’t have our resources or opportunties."
